Rotate PDF Online — Free and Without Uploading
Turn PDF pages the right way up in your browser. Rotate the whole document at once or fix a single sideways page, then download the corrected file. Nothing is uploaded — your PDF never leaves your device.
Scans often need more than rotation — Protect PDF adds a password, Add Page Numbers numbers the result, and Images to PDF assembles loose photos into one file.
How to use the Rotate PDF
- 1 Choose the PDF you want to rotate.
- 2 Use "90° left", "90° right" or "180°" to turn every page at once, or click an individual page tile to rotate only that page.
- 3 Watch the page tiles — each shows a shape at the real page proportions, turned by its current angle, so you can see the orientation before downloading.
- 4 Click Download rotated PDF. Use Reset at any point to go back to the original orientation.
How to rotate a PDF
- Choose a PDF file from your device.
- Use the four buttons to turn every page, or click an individual page to rotate just that one.
- Each page shows its current angle, so you can see at a glance which way it will print.
- Download the rotated PDF — the original file is untouched.
Fixing a sideways scan
A sideways page almost always comes from a scanner that was fed the sheet in the wrong orientation. The scanner records what it saw, so the page arrives in the PDF as landscape when you wanted portrait — and rotating it in a viewer is temporary, because the viewer does not save the change.
Rotating here writes the new orientation into the file itself, so every viewer, printer and email recipient sees it the right way up. You can mix angles freely: rotate one page 90 degrees and another 180 in the same document.
Rotate without losing quality
This tool changes the page rotation flag rather than re-rendering the page. That matters: converting each page to an image and rebuilding the PDF would destroy text selection, blur any vector artwork and usually make the file much larger.
Because only the flag changes, your text stays searchable, links keep working, and the file size barely moves. Scanned documents keep their original scan resolution.
Is it private?
Yes. The PDF is read, rotated and written again entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. There is no upload step, no server processing and no account — which also means the tool works on confidential documents without them ever leaving your machine.
Frequently asked questions
How do I rotate a PDF for free?
Pick the file, click one of the rotate buttons, and download. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no page limit, because the work happens in your browser rather than on a server. You can rotate the whole document or fix a single page in the same pass.
Can I rotate just one page instead of the whole PDF?
Yes — click any page tile to turn that page by 90 degrees. Mixed angles are fine: a document can have one page at 90 degrees and another at 180. The Reset button restores every page to its original orientation.
How do I turn a landscape PDF back to portrait?
Rotate every page by 90 degrees. A landscape page is the same page turned on its side, so a quarter turn puts it back to portrait. If the document is mixed, rotate the pages that need it individually.
Why is my scanned PDF upside down?
Because the sheet went through the scanner the wrong way round. A 180-degree rotation fixes it. This is the most common cause of a sideways or inverted page, and it is a scanner problem rather than anything wrong with the file.
Does rotating a PDF reduce its quality?
No. The rotation is written into the page orientation rather than by re-rendering the page, so text stays selectable, vector artwork stays sharp and scanned images keep their original resolution. The file size barely changes, and often gets slightly smaller.
Is it safe to rotate a confidential PDF here?
Yes. The file is opened, rotated and saved again entirely in your browser — there is no upload step and no server involved, so the document never leaves your device.
