Free Strong Password Generator
The Strong Password Generator creates secure, random passwords using your browser’s cryptographically strong random number generator. Choose length and character sets, then copy the result.
Once you have a password, the Password Strength Checker tells you how long it would survive an attack, and the Password Strength Meter does the same for credentials you already hold. Need a batch at once? Password Generator Pro produces them in bulk.
How to use the Password Generator
- 1 Set the length — 16 characters or more is a sensible default for anything that matters.
- 2 Choose which character sets to include: lowercase, uppercase, digits and symbols.
- 3 Click Generate. Every password is produced from your browser’s cryptographic random number generator, not a predictable pseudo-random one.
- 4 Copy the password straight into your password manager, and generate a fresh one for each account.
How to Use
Set the length and toggle which character types to include. The password generates instantly — copy it or generate a new one.
- Uses crypto.getRandomValues (secure)
- Optional exclusion of similar characters
- Live strength indicator
Frequently asked questions
Is a longer password always better than a complex one?
Length adds more strength than extra character types. Going from 12 to 16 characters with the same alphabet multiplies the search space by roughly 100 million, while adding symbols to a 12-character password multiplies it by only a few thousand.
Are these passwords truly random?
Yes. They are drawn from the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues), the same source browsers use for TLS keys. Math.random, which many online generators use, is seeded predictably and is not safe for passwords.
Should I memorise the generated password?
No — store it in a password manager. The whole point of a long random password is that it resists guessing and is never reused, and a manager is what makes that practical across dozens of accounts.
