Free Base32 Encoder & Decoder
Encode text to Base32 or decode Base32 back to readable text using the RFC 4648 standard alphabet (A–Z and 2–7). Base32 is widely used in one-time-password secrets, DNS records, and systems where case-insensitive encoding matters.
How to Use
Type or paste your text and choose Encode to produce Base32, or paste a Base32 string and choose Decode. The result appears instantly, and you can strip padding characters if your target system does not use them.
- RFC 4648 standard alphabet (A–Z, 2–7)
- Full Unicode (UTF-8) support
- Optional padding removal
- Copy or swap between encode and decode
When is Base32 used?
Base32 represents binary data using 32 characters, which makes it safe for case-insensitive systems — its main advantage over Base64. It is the encoding behind TOTP/authenticator secrets, and it appears in some DNS and file naming conventions where uppercase letters and digits are the only reliable characters.
