Screen Resolution Checker
See exactly what your display and browser window are reporting. Screen size, viewport dimensions, pixel ratio, colour depth and orientation all update live as you resize the window or rotate a device.
How to Use
Open this page and the figures populate straight away. Resize your browser window and the viewport numbers change in real time, which makes it a quick way to check a responsive breakpoint or confirm what a device is actually reporting.
- Screen size and available work area
- Live viewport and window dimensions
- Device pixel ratio and effective resolution
- Colour depth, orientation and touch support
- Browser, platform and zoom estimate
Screen size versus viewport
The screen size is the physical display resolution, which does not change when you resize the window. The viewport is the part of the page your browser can actually draw in, and it is what CSS media queries respond to. On a phone the viewport is usually reported in CSS pixels, so a 1080-pixel-wide screen might report a viewport of only 360 pixels once the pixel ratio is applied.
