Step by step

    CMYK to RGB Converter

Turn print CMYK percentages into the RGB and hex values your screen and CSS need. Enter the four ink values and the converter returns the screen colour along with HSL and a preview.

    How the conversion works

In the subtractive CMYK model each ink removes light from white paper. To go back to screen colours, each channel is multiplied by how much light survives — that is, by one minus the black component — and then by one minus its own ink value.

    • HSL values for CSS work

    Round-tripping

Converting RGB to CMYK and back does not always return exactly the colour you started with, because the CMYK transform collapses three channels into four and loses some information. Colours with a large black component are the most affected. If exactness matters, work in one colour space throughout.
