RGB to CMYK Converter
Convert a screen colour into the CMYK percentages a printer expects. Enter a hex code or the red, green and blue channels, and the converter shows both the CMYK values and the intermediate steps of the calculation.
How the conversion works
RGB is an additive model where colours are made by adding light, and black is the absence of all three channels. CMYK is subtractive, describing how much ink to lay down, and black is produced by the K channel. The conversion normalises each channel, finds the largest as the black component, and derives the other three from what remains.

A caveat about print colour
This is a mathematical conversion with no colour profile applied. Real printing involves device-specific profiles such as FOGRA or SWOP, ink limits and paper characteristics, so a printed result will differ somewhat from what you see on screen. Treat these numbers as a starting point and always proof important work.
