Favicon & Icon Set Generator
Create a simple favicon and app icon set from a letter, short text or an emoji. Choose the background and text colours, then download the PNG sizes and copy the HTML tags you need.
Start from artwork you already have: the Favicon Generator produces the browser sizes, the Logo Maker builds a mark from scratch, and the SVG Optimizer shrinks the result.
How to use the Icon Set Helper
- 1 Choose the platforms and sizes you need — browser tabs, iOS home screen, Android, PWA.
- 2 Copy the generated HTML link snippet into your head section.
- 3 Work through the file checklist, producing each size with the favicon generator or your own image tool.
- 4 Drop the files into your site root and verify the snippet paths match.
How to Use
Enter one or two characters — a letter, initials, or an emoji — and pick your colours. The preview renders at every common size and each can be downloaded individually. The HTML block covers the modern link tags.
- Letter, initials or emoji input
- Custom background, text and shape
- All common favicon and PWA sizes
- Individual PNG downloads
- HTML link tags generated for you
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the favicon generator?
The favicon generator produces the image files from your artwork. This tool produces the plan — the exact link tags and the list of sizes to create — which is the part people get wrong, because the required set has grown well beyond the old single favicon.ico.
Which sizes do I actually need?
For a modern site: a 48 or 32px PNG for the browser tab, a 180px apple-touch-icon for iOS, and 192px and 512px PNGs if you want the site installable as a PWA. The legacy 16px favicon.ico is still worth including for old bookmarks and RSS readers.
Why does the apple-touch-icon need a solid background?
Because iOS composites transparency onto black, not white. A logo with a transparent background that looks fine in a browser tab will appear as a dark tile on the home screen, so export that one size flattened onto a background colour.
