Free Mock JSON Data Generator

Generate realistic fake JSON data for testing APIs, populating prototypes and seeding databases. Choose an entity type (users, products, companies, orders), the number of records and a few options, then copy the JSON.

Once generated, tidy the output with the JSON Formatter and check it with the JSON Validator. The UUID Generator fills in unique ids.

How to use the Mock JSON

  1. 1 Choose the kind of records you need — users, products or orders.
  2. 2 Set how many records to generate.
  3. 3 Generate and preview the JSON, then copy it or download it as a file.
  4. 4 Regenerate to get a different data set with the same shape.

How to Use

Pick the data type, set how many records you need, optionally nest an address or company object, and click Generate. Copy or download the result as a .json file.

  • Users, products, companies and orders
  • 1 to 500 records at once
  • Nested address and company objects
  • Optional seeded / reproducible output
  • Copy or download as JSON

Why mock data?

Realistic test data catches layout and validation bugs that dummy strings like "test1" miss. It is also essential for demoing apps before real data exists, and for load-testing endpoints.

Frequently asked questions

Is this data safe to use?

Yes — it is entirely invented, so no real personal information is involved. That is the point: using production data in a test database or a demo is a privacy problem, and generated records give you realistic shapes without any of that risk.

Can I use it as a mock API response?

That is the most common use. Paste the output into a fixture file, a Postman example response, or a JSON server, and your frontend has a stable shape to build against before the real endpoint exists. Regenerating gives you fresh values without changing the schema.

Will the records be internally consistent?

Within reason. Field types and formats are realistic — plausible names, dates and prices — so your code can parse and display them. Treat the values as illustrative rather than logically linked: an order total is not computed from the products in it.
